Ideal customer profile

Your ideal customer profile (ICP) is who you sell to, in a few facts: industries, company size, revenue and locations, plus the domains and industries to leave out. In the dashboard you describe it with the rules of your scoring model; the model turns it into the ICP score every lead gets.

Platform also keeps a short, structured copy of the ICP for each website. Your AI assistant reads it to explain why a lead fits or not and to search for prospects that match, and in the EU and the EEA it decides which contact we suggest at an identified company (which countries get the exact person).

1. Read it by asking your AI assistant or with GET /v3/icp (API).
2. Change it with update_icp or PUT /v3/icp: industries, sectors, locations, headcount and revenue ranges. Only the fields you send change.
3. For scoring with weights, pages visited and job titles, use Scoring models; AI Assist can write them from your website.

Common questionsCopy Anchor Link

What is the ICP? Your ideal customer profile: the type of company (and person) you want as a customer. Everything in Qualify compares leads with it.

Is the ICP the same as my scoring model? Related, not the same. The scoring model is the full set of rules and weights that produce the score. The ICP record is the short summary your AI assistant reads; changing one does not change the other.

Where do I set it in the dashboard? Build your scoring model under Qualify, or let AI Assist read your website and propose it. The structured ICP record is changed from your AI assistant or the API.

Does changing the ICP cost anything? No. It only changes settings inside your account; no credits are used.

Why does the Leads page ask who I sell to (B2B or B2C)? The Lead quality panel on the Leads page uses it to set a sensible minimum fit for your leads. It is separate from the ICP record described here.
