Deliverability check
Check a mailbox’s SPF, DKIM, DMARC and tracking domain so its emails are trusted.
Receiving mail servers check three DNS records on your domain before trusting an email. The deliverability check tells you whether each is in place for a mailbox's domain, whether your custom tracking domain is set, and whether the sending address is on a blacklist. It sends no email.
- Integrations → Email Accounts: the Deliverability column shows SPF / DKIM / DMARC / tracking for each mailbox.
- ⋮ → Check DNS Records (or Check Now) after you change DNS; the result lists what is still missing and how to fix it.
- ⋮ → Custom Tracking Domain to track opens and clicks through your own domain instead of a shared one.
Common questions
What are SPF, DKIM and DMARC? Three DNS records on your domain that prove an email really comes from you. SPF lists which servers may send for the domain. DKIM signs each email so it cannot be altered. DMARC tells receivers what to do when a check fails. Missing records are the most common reason emails land in spam. Domains bought from us have all three set up for you (Outreach domains); for your own domain, add the records at your DNS provider, then run the check again.
What does the overall status mean? Excellent or Good: nothing to do. Warning: a record is missing or weak; fix it soon. Critical: emails from this mailbox are likely to be rejected or spam-foldered; fix it before sending.
How do I know whether my emails land in the inbox or in spam? That is a separate test: ⋮ → Run Deliverability Test sends real test emails from the mailbox and reports where they landed; the result shows in the Test Score column. You can run it from the email editor too (Get Deliverability Report) to test a specific email.
Should I track opens and clicks? Tracking rewrites links and adds an invisible image, which some providers treat as a spam signal. For cold outreach keep Track Opens & Clicks off in the campaign Settings. If you do track, set a Custom Tracking Domain (a CNAME record on a subdomain such as track.yourdomain.example) so the links carry your own name.
How do I set up the tracking domain? ⋮ → Custom Tracking Domain, enter a subdomain (for example track.yourdomain.example), create the CNAME record it shows at your DNS provider, then Verify DNS. Remove tracking domain goes back to the shared one.
